About Us

Mabushi is a Tokyo-based consulting firm built to empower individuals and organizations seeking to forge their legacy in Japan. As an end-to-end relocation and career accelerator, we act as the ultimate bridge to authentic immersion—handling everything from helping international talent seamlessly move and transition to Japan to delivering tailored career strategy.

We clear the roadblocks so international talent can confidently step onto the stage and shine.

Our Philosophy

In Japan, the word Mabushi describes something dazzling—a light so brilliant it captures the soul. For us, this light represents the clarity and inspiration found when we truly connect with the world around us.

Our Mission

To empower individuals to deeply connect with Japan through comprehensive cultural understanding, transformative leadership development, and responsible, immersive travel, fostering a global community of culturally intelligent and conscientious explorers.

OUR NAME IS OUR BLUEPRINT

To learn with an open heart

Ma (Manabu)

Deep connection starts with understanding. We facilitate learning experiences that go beyond surface-level observations, encouraging students of life to engage deeply with Japanese wisdom and perspectives.

Bu (bunka)

Culture is not a spectacle to be watched, but a rhythm to be joined. We provide true immersion, connecting you with local traditions and contemporary life in ways that respect and celebrate the living heritage of Japan.

To immerse ourselves in the depth of culture

Shi (shisho)

To be guided by the wisdom of mentors

True insight comes from those who carry the story. We bridge the gap between visitors and the community of mentors—artisans, scholars, and daily practitioners—who define the soul of Japan.

Together, these pillars form MABUSHI—a bridge between the Japan you’ve heard of and the Japan that will stay with you forever.

About the Founder

Long before MABUSHI Inc. was founded in Tokyo, the story began in a small, rural community in southern Ohio. Raised by her mother and grandparents, Rosa Aldridge learned early on that community isn't just a place you live—it’s something you build. Through 4-H leadership and international exchanges, Rosa opened her world to a culture thousands of miles away. What started as a childhood fascination with Japan evolved into a lifelong mission when she stepped off a plane in Iwate Prefecture as an exchange student over a decade ago.

Rosa Aldridge: Bridging Worlds

Rosa didn’t just move to Japan; she immersed herself in it. From the recovery efforts in Rikuzentakata following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake to the high-stakes operations of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she witnessed the resilience of the Japanese spirit firsthand. Her professional path was equally diverse.

A Decade of Navigation

Whether leading global teams at Apple Japan or supporting international faculty and students at a Japanese university, Rosa identified a consistent, pressing need: the bridge between "being here" and "belonging here." She saw brilliant professionals struggle with cultural nuances and local organizations lose talent due to communication gaps.

The Founders Philosophy

Today, Rosa leads MABUSHI with the same philosophy that guided her from Ohio to Tokyo:

We don't just offer consulting; we offer a decade of lived experience, a network of local artisans, and a deep-seated belief that meaningful global careers are built through empathy and the courage to embrace new worlds.

"Seize every opportunity, stay open-minded, and never stop learning."
